C.D. Leganés beat Granada C.F. 1-0 at the Ontime Butarque Stadium in the 25th round of LALIGA HYPERMOTION. Gonzalo Melero scored the only goal of the game in the 9th minute, securing the Pepineros' third consecutive home victory.
Igor Oca made two changes to the Pepineros' lineup from the last eleven against Burgos, with Melero coming in for Cissé in midfield and Diego García replacing Álex Millán at the front. Lega started well, with two shots from Óscar Plano in the first six minutes that had the Ontime Butarque crowd on the edge of their seats.
Melero, after an assist from Dani Rodríguez, soon put Lega ahead in a good first half
The goal came in the 9th minute: Dani Rodríguez sent a free kick from the left into the box and Melero appeared in the area to head home and make it 1-0. It was his second goal in the current league season. Lega continued to press after the goal, with another dangerous attempt by Juan Cruz in the 14th minute that went just wide. Granada responded with a set piece that was cleared by Juan Soriano in his first intervention of the match. Marvel had a clear chance in the 28th minute, after another set piece that the number 2 finished with a powerful left-footed shot that hit the crossbar.
The game calmed down in the last quarter of an hour of the first half, with Leganés continuing to press high and go for the second goal and Granada dominating possession a little more, although without creating any danger in the Pepinera area. With Lega leading 1-0, the teams went into the break.
Óscar Plano had the best chance to seal the win in the second half
The second half began with no changes for Lega, while the Nazaríes made three changes in an attempt to turn the result around. Lega had a chance in the 51st minute, with a cross from Juan Cruz controlled by Melero and Óscar Plano ready to finish, but the defense cleared his shot at the last moment.
The game was interrupted in a much more scrappy second half, in which both teams tried to take control without success. In the 71st minute, Igor Oca made his first two changes, bringing on Duk and Álex Millán in place of Juan Cruz and Diego García to freshen up the attack. Duk himself assisted Óscar Plano in the 74th minute, but his first-time shot with his right foot went over the bar. In the 77th minute, Lega made two more substitutions, with Cissé and Roberto López coming on for Melero and Dani Rodríguez.
This was Leganés' third consecutive home win, bringing their total to 32 points
In the final stretch, Ignasi Miquel came on for Óscar Plano in the last change for the Pepineros, looking to defend their lead. The Blue and Whites defended tooth and nail in the final minutes to secure the result, and the match ended with a final score of 1-0. This is Leganés' third consecutive home win, putting them on 32 points in the standings. Their next match will be on Saturday, February 14 (2:00 p.m.) away against Córdoba C.F.
