C.D. Leganés coach Igor Oca appeared at a press conference on Saturday after the match between the Pepineros and Burgos C.F. at El Plantío Stadium, corresponding to the 24th matchday of LALIGA HYPERMOTION, which ended in a 2-1 defeat.
The coach assessed the ninety minutes as follows:
A point that got away: "We were so close. We worked hard to get the three points, but a mistake in the 92nd minute, a free kick from the wing and a four-on-two situation that we should have finished off. We struggled to readjust and they took advantage of a cross. It's a shame, because it was in our hands not to win, but to turn the situation around and not let them score. It's a shame to have ended up like this, with a mistake on a cross from the wing, which already happened to us in Albacete. We have to be better against a team that controls the game. We had them on the ropes, we had the chance that they cleared off the line. We wanted it, and you leave with that disappointment and anger at how the game turned out".
Going for the win after the equalizer: “When we equalized, we wanted to go for the win, but then a situation like this can happen. With a good balance, we could have solved it. At no point did we want to give up on the win because of how we were playing and how we had approached the second half. It seemed to be going our way, but now we have to swallow the bitter pill and face the next game on Friday”.
A halt to the winning streak: “It slows you down. Everything is very even, but we have to hold on to the courage that the players have shown. Burgos is a very solid team, they don't concede many goals, and they're strong at home. We had our chance to win and we let it slip away. We have to analyze what went wrong so that it doesn't happen again, analyze what went well, and prepare for Friday's game”.
