Uriel attends a practice and meets the team

Our young fan, Uriel, visited the first team’s training session and got to meet our team’s players and staff, as well as tour the Butarque Sports Complex.

On August 19, Uriel and his family watched the first team’s training session, and afterward, our captains—Rubén Peña, Enric Franquesa, and Ignasi Miquel—gave them a tour of the Butarque Sports Complex, where they met the rest of the players.

To mark World Duchenne Awareness Day, celebrated on September 7, the club and the Foundation wanted young Uriel—a resident of our city and a loyal fan of the club—to experience a special day with our team.

A few months ago, our Foundation, together with the Cheering Section and the Federation of Fan Clubs, raised the necessary funds to purchase a new wheelchair so he can continue living his life despite his rare disease, Duchenne muscular dystrophy—a degenerative muscle disorder that affects one in every 5,000 children worldwide.
