C.D. Leganés and U.D. Almería have reached an agreement for the loan, with an option to buy, of 28-year-old attacker Patrick Soko. The Cameroonian international arrives at Ontime Butarque after an extensive career in our league.
Formed at Les Astres F.C. in Cameroon, Soko spent time in the Dominican Republic and Mexico (Atlas, Atlante, and Mineros de Zacatecas) before arriving in Spain, joining the ranks of Racing de Santander in 2020. In his second season with the Cantabrian side, he achieved promotion to LALIGA HYPERMOTION, playing a prominent role by scoring seven goals and providing eleven assists.
Experience in LaLiga Hypermotion and on the international stage with Cameroon
The following year he made his debut in the second division after signing for S.D. Huesca. After being loaned to U.D. Ibiza for a year, he returned to the Upper Aragonese outfit to complete the best season of his career in 2024/25. That year, Soko was his team's top scorer and ranked in the top 10 of the category, with thirteen goals and four assists.
His performances led him to sign for U.D. Almería, a club with which he featured in twenty-three official matches last season, falling just short of promotion to LALIGA EA SPORTS. Soko is a full international for Cameroon, a national team he represented in the recent Africa Cup of Nations.
Now, Soko arrives at Leganés to begin a new professional chapter. The player will join training sessions with the squad next Monday after returning from Wales, and he will be presented next week.
