13 years of Victoria Pavón and Felipe Moreno at the reins

24th December marks a special moment for C.D. Leganés this year, as the 13th anniversary of president Victoria Pavón's and vice president Felipe Moreno's arrival at the Butarque.

The pair began their tenure in the face of adversity, heading a club battling away in the thrid tier of Spanish football, Segunda División 'B', that was plagued by ecomonic problems. But over the seasons, the hard work of all the people who make up C.D. Leganés, together with the unwavering support of the fans, have contributed to a strong footballing and community foundation that the neighbours of the Butarque can represent with pride. 

In these 13 years, the club fought away in the third tier for five years, four in Segunda División itself and four in the top flight. In this time the club has survived four promotion play-off rounds to the second division, secured a promotion to LaLiga Santander as well as LaLiga SmartBank, qualified for the promotion play-off in Segunda División last season and reached the semi-final of the Copa del Rey after beating Real Madrid C.F. at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2018.

Work, hope and ambition 

Such domestic sporting success would not have been possible without the development of new club facilities, including the Ciudad Deportiva, the Estadio Municipal Butarque expansion, as well as the improvement of day-to-day working conditions of the footballers, coaching staff and academy. A club that the fans can cheer on, the heads of C.D. Leganés have fostered and strengthened the bonds with sponsors and institutions alike, increasing the club's social contribution, corporate acumen and internal cohesion.
