C.D. Leganés defeated Portuguese side F.C. Penafiel (2-0) in the final friendly match of their pre-season training camp in Vigo. Álex Millán and Gøthler scored the goals for the blue-and-whites, who return to Madrid to continue their preparation ahead of the league opener.
Leganés lined up with the main addition of Tejero as a starter after getting his first minutes in the friendly against Nacional. The pepineros took the lead in the 15th minute of the match following a penalty committed on Rubén Peña, which Álex Millán confidently converted. The side reached the half-time break with the advantage over the Portuguese team.
With a completely renewed eleven at the start of the second half, Marvel had a good chance in the 60th minute to extend the lead. Andrés Campos also tried his luck from the edge of the area, but the Penafiel goalkeeper thwarted his effort. In the 84th minute, the 2-0 arrived courtesy of Dane Alfred Gøthler, who finished off a one-on-one perfectly.
Leganés thus concludes its training camp on Galician soil, after which it will return to Madrid to continue its pre-season. The next preparation match for the pepineros will be on Tuesday the 28th (18:00 hours) against Real Madrid C.F. in Valdebebas, in a clash that will be played behind closed doors.
